8 Days From Tangier To Merzouga Marrakech

After breakfast, we will leave Chefchaouen to travel to Fes. In our route we will stop to visit the Roman Ruins of Volubilis. The ruins remained substantially intact until an earthquake devastated them in the mid-18th century. After you will travel on to Meknes, one of the four Imperial cities, where you will visit the famous El Hedim Square, the Mausoleum of Sultan Moulay Ismail and the Old Medina before arriving at Fes. Your accommodations and dinner will be in your hotel in Fes.

After breakfast, your local guide will meet you at 10 am to show you Fez. Fez is the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities and is divided into three sections and you will tour each part - the original old town, Fes el-Bali; Fes el-Jedid, built in the 13th century; and the contemporary Ville Nouvelle quarter. The old town or the medina is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is the largest car free urban area in the world and is recognized as one of the best preserved historic towns of the Arab-Muslim world. It is made up of many maze-like narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices and many artisanal objects of Morocco. 

Your tour will also include the following notable stops: 

• Medersa Bou Inania, an architecturally renown theological college
• Al-Attarine Madrasa, the school of perfumers. 
• Palais Royal Dar El Makhzen
• Chaouwara Tannery, the oldest and largest of the traditional tanneries in Fez’s leather souk dating back to the midevil times
• Ain Nokbi, the pottery district to see how Fez’s unique pottery and tiles are made

Your guide will offer recommendations for lunch spots and we will break for lunch in the medina at your desired time. You will have the evening for rest and relaxation or to continue exploring Fez.

After breakfast, at your hotel, your tour continues with an early departure from Fes.  We leave Fez to Ifrane, which is The Little Switzerland of Morocco. We will have a stop to discover this amazing city.

After that Azrou this beautified cedar forest is home to the endangered Barbary Apes, which are actually monkeys.Once you arrive. This will be a good opportunity to take pictures of the timberland in Morocco , the cedre forest and wild monkeys in the Cedar woods of Azrou . Your lunch will be in Midelt, the city of apples and minerals in a typical restaurant.

We continue our tour to ziz valley where we will have a stop for taking pictures in ziz valley in  a panoramic view. Then Erfoud, you will visit the old market of dates and the fossils workers .  we continue to Merzouga and prepare for your journey to Erg Chebbi to take a camel ride to the desert camp where you will enjoy a special  night under the stars.

Wake up early with a picturesque sunrise before enjoying breakfast at the luxury camp. Then, head back to Merzouga to re-join your van and continue your journey to reach Todra Gorge travelling along the rugged Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. You will have the opportunity to see the irrigation canal system in Ziz valley. We arrive at the stunning gorges of Todra where springs of water run between the rocks and enjoy the views of natural beauty.

Take a short exploratory walk into the Todra Gorge with its high walls of pink and grey rock which surround you. After lunch, continue the journey towards Dades valley and Rose valley. Arrival in ouarzazate .

Wake up early with a picturesque sunrise before enjoying breakfast at the luxury camp. Then, head back to Merzouga to re-join your van and continue your journey to reach Todra Gorge travelling along the rugged Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. After your morning breakfast we visit Kasbah Taourirt and the cinema studios of Atlas & CLA Studios where many movies were produced thus being called The Hollywood of Africa like Lawrence of Arabia , sahara…

After we depart to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou through Tizi N'tichka pass an elevation of 2260m .

Visit the UNESCO world heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is a spectacular fortified village .  After we  continue our road, You will stop in Taddart to have lunch at a Berber village in a panoramic restaurant.

After you complete your lunch you will continue your travel to Marrakech.

Once you arrive in Marrakech, You will be dropped off at your hotel / Riad .  .

After breakfast at 10 AM we will start the first leg of our discovery of Marrakech’s palaces, gardens and other notable sites with a local guide. Your guide will share the history and significance of each place with you. Please note that your tour guide will speak English and is certified by the Ministry of Tourism. This guide will continue until the early afternoon (1-1:30pm), before breaking for lunch. Your guide will offer restaurant recommendations in the medina for lunch or you may choose a lunch spot yourself.
